Dear friends and family, the time has finally come to begin the next phase of training! I am scheduled to begin my instrument training on May 28th, less than a week away as of the time of this writing. The written portion of the testing process will take me 3 days of 8 hours a day studying in the classroom and I am sure countless hours studying at home afterwards. The day after the three day course I will take the written exam.
Then at the end of June, I will be training 8 hours a day for 10 days straight. At the end of that training I will take my instrument practical test and upon passing I will be an instrument rated pilot!
Would you please consider being a sponsor for one or more of the line items below?
- The Written Test (and its training) will cost a total of $325.
- Each day of Flight Training will cost $540 and consume $120 dollars worth of fuel.
- At the end of the training the FAA Practical Test will cost an additional $350.
We are moving forward in faith that God will provide the necessary funds for this training. He has on so many other occasions provided funds through people and in very unexpected ways. Once this training is complete the next phase will be to get the Commercial Pilots rating.
Below is a breakdown of the $7,302 dollar total cost.

Family News
Shane is graduating Kindergarten! We are so proud of our little guy! He has learned so much this year. He is an auditory learner and it is astounding how well he remembers anything that is said to him. Learning the names of the letters was difficult for him though as the whole symbol to name thing didn't mean much to him. So with help he actually could read before he knew the letter names of the alphabet! I guess symbols to sounds made more sense to him. In any case with much love, kindness and patience his teacher and tutor have helped him to be able to read rather smoothly. It has been a huge blessing for us to be able to have him attend such a caring school.
Becca continues to blossom and amazes us with the logical conclusions she reaches and with her love for others, especially those in difficult circumstances. She will be finishing up 1st grade at the end of the week. Her teacher this year truly found Becca's heart and has nurtured it and helped her grow not only scholastically but in her walk with God as well.
Sheea had a doctor appointment last Tuesday which raised some concerns. I will be going with her to her next appointment this next Tuesday (the 25th of May) for further tests. This is, of course, adding to our stress levels.
Prayer Requests
- That the training expenses would be met with an equal amount of funding.
- That Tony would be able to effectively rise to the challenge of the grueling training schedule.
- Sheea will be out of town for 10 days visiting family, so Tony will have both the kids and be working from home (Which is a praise that he can work from home). Normally Tony would take a week off work, but that week off is going to flight training. So pray that I (Tony) am able to make this a meaningful time with the kids in spite of needing to work and that I am able to still produce good results for my boss.
- Sheea's health. Next Tuesday she will be undergoing some tests for some concerning results from her doctor visit last week. Please pray for peace and for a positive outcome.
